An easy simple chutney if you have lots of windfall apples.

Instructions
  1. Put the apples, onions in a large pan
  2. Add the sugar and vinegar
  3. Bring to the boil then simmer until soft, stir occasionally to stop from burning
  4. Add dates, sultanas, seeds and salt and continue to simmer for about 30 minutes stiring occasionally.
  5. The chutney is done when dark and thick.
  6. Spoon into sterilized jars and seal with a lid and set aside to cool.
  7. Leave to mature for a month before serving
